Road to the National Final: Innovation Camp 2026

The finalists of the Economics Olympiad gathered in Berne this weekend for the Innovation Camp at the Swiss Youth Hostels. The aim of the camp was to deepen their economic knowledge and prepare them for the national final.

The path to the Innovation Camp was demanding: after a 45-minute online exam in September, the top 40 participants advanced to a second round, where they completed another test. The twelve qualified finalists had to complete all tasks in English, which was an additional challenge, as it is a foreign language for many of them.

During the camp, participants worked hands-on on current challenges. This year’s focus was on further developing the marketing strategy of the Swiss Youth Hostels, with a particular emphasis on TikTok. The programme was complemented by workshops led by experts from business and academia.

The Innovation Camp thus represents an important step on the way to the national final, which will take place on May 1.
