National Final Economics Olympiad 2026: These five young talents are heading to Suzhou!
The National Final of the Economics Olympiad 2026 took place on the 1st May at the University of Bern. A total of twelve talented students competed against each other, demonstrating their knowledge across various fields of economics and business administration. The Economics Olympiad is part of the Science Olympiad and is held annually.
The day began with a written exam, in which participants demonstrated their understanding of current economic developments as well as topics such as monetary policy and game theory.
In the subsequent Business Case, the students took on the role of advisors to the company planted. Their task was to develop a forward-looking strategy addressing key industry challenges while positioning the company for long-term success. This included aspects such as product strategy, positioning, innovation, go-to-market strategy, and regulatory considerations. The solutions were developed within 90 minutes.
Afterwards, the participants presented their solutions to a jury of experts, and five students were selected for the Swiss delegation.
