Swiss delegation writes history at the International Economics Olympiad in Shenzhen

Five Swiss upper-secondary students represented Switzerland at this year's International Economics Olympiad in Shenzhen, China, having qualified over the course of a year through the Economics Olympiad. Kashvi Duggal, Harry Willeke, Elihu Bao, Eric Lüscher and Domantas Pranckevicius competed in the international competition on the strength of their outstanding performances throughout the year.

Over nine days, the participants sat exams in economics and financial literacy as well as a 24-hour business case. With two gold, two silver and one bronze medal, the delegation achieved the best result in the history of the Swiss Economics Olympiad, securing first place among all European teams and fifth place worldwide.

55 countries were represented at the Olympiad, giving participants the opportunity for cultural exchange and international connections.
