Young People in Business Fever: The Second Round of the Economics Olympiad 2026

The Second Round of the Economics Olympiad brought together the top 60 participants from across Switzerland for an inspiring day at the Swiss National Bank in Bern.

What is the Economics Olympiad?

The Economics Olympiad gives talented students the opportunity to show their knowledge in finance, business administration and economics. The journey begins with an online exam, where participants compete for a place in the Second Round. 12 out of 60 students move on to the Innovation Camp, which prepares them for the National Final. And finally, the winners can represent Switzerland at the International Economics Olympiad.

After achieving the highest scores in the online exam, 60 young people qualified for this next stage of the competition: the Second Round, a full day of economics and finance at the headquarters of the Swiss National Bank in Bern. Throughout the day, they explored economics and business with interactive workshops and heard a talk about monetary policy by Toni Beutler and connected with like-minded peers from across Switzerland.

In addition to the learning opportunities, participants completed an exam that will determine who will earn a spot in the National Final and the preparatory Innovation Camp.

Who will make it to the National Final will be announced soon – stay tuned!
